Hi! I’m Karen. Medical microbiologist by day and traveler by day off. Wanderlust is in my genes. While my parents were never grand voyagers, I grew up knowing that travel is an adventure and that adventures are fun. They’d load up our little camper trailer and when we reached the end of our street, Dad would ask, “left or right?” and off we’d go.
Fifty years later, I am the one behind the wheel and there is little I enjoy more than a good adventure. It is an escape from the ordinary and so much more. Travel introduces you to the world, its people and to yourself as you grow along the way. Travel is a fleeting thing, but writing about my adventures makes them last forever.
I don’t have a ‘bucket list’. I prefer to just ask the question, “left or right?” and see where the road takes me. As Susan Sontag once said, “I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.” Anywhere and everywhere, that works just fine for me.
